2017 Rate Changes

Highline Water District advertised notice of a public rate hearing on its website and in the Westside Weekly Newspaper for two consecutive weeks.  The Highline Board conducted a rate hearing at its board meeting on Wednesday, December 21st at 9:00 am.  Afterwards, the Board raised the District's water rates by approximately 2.6% effective January 1, 2017.

The primary reason for the rate increase is to pay for needed capital improvement projects and to keep up with inflationary expenses.

This is the District's first rate increase since 2014.  The District was able to forego rate increases for two years because of excess reserves and higher than normal water sales.

Starting January 1, 2017, average single family residential customers using 600 cubic feet (6 ccf) of water per winter month and 800 cubic feet (8 ccf) of water per summer month will see their monthly bill increase by approximately $1.00 per month or $2.00 for a two month bill.
